Expand

Keyboard Shortcut Menu Shortcut Menu Location
Alt+PgUp Alt+I, E Image ->Expand

The Expand command adds an empty border area around the image. This can be helpful when there are horizontal or vertical lines at the very edges of the original image which might otherwise get clipped during processing.

The default behavior is to expand the image by five pixels on all sides (thus increasing the overall width and height by 10 each). You may change the expanded image size in the dialog box, however:

Width

Enter the new image width here. This value must be at least as large as the original width – Expand will not reduce the image below its original size.

Height

Enter the new image height here. This value must be at least as large as the original height – the Expand command will not shrink an image.

Center

Select a box to indicate which part of the image to use as the center of expansion. The default center location will expand the image equally on all sides.
